Established: 1877 Incorporated: 1986 Elevation: 2,200 feet Population: 3,728 residents (50% male, 50% female) Median Age: 44.7 years Hottest month : July (101 F degrees average) Coldest months: December & January (41 F degrees average) Cave Creek was named for the small stream that rises in the hills to the northeast and flows southwesterly for 25 miles. The town is rich in archaeological finds. Many petroglyphs and pictographs can be found in the surrounding desert. Dozens of prehistoric sites have been discovered, many of which remain undisturbed to this day.
